Fit, style and color are among the essential factors of men’s suits, but patterns are just as important as well. There are four types of pattern designs in a suit and these patterns make a suit more fashionable without compromising the formality of the suit:
- Pinstripes
The pinstripe design is basically the most standard suit pattern. The design is recognized by its stripe or vertical lines running all over the suit jacket and the trousers. These lines are medium in width and thickness and could be either pencil stripes or chalk stripes. Pencil stripe patterns are thinner and closely spaced while shadow stripes are thicker. Pinstripe suits are very popular among men and worn to look more formal and professional.
- Windowpane
The windowpane pattern is a little more fashionable than the pinstripe pattern. It is identified by its vertical and horizontal lines running on both ends so as to create the square windowpane pattern. Men’s clothing with such pattern is excellent for parties, religious gatherings, or on less formal occasions. Nevertheless, windowpane suits in general are not suitably formal enough to be worn as corporate suits and definitely not professional enough for job interviews.
- Checkered
Checkered pattern design is one of the more fashionable and trendier patterns in suits. Checkered suits will go perfectly well at significant social occasions like formal dates, weddings and religious formal affairs. They are seen as vertical and horizontal lines running all over the suit making a pattern that is quite unique and different. Expert tailors are usually required in making this type of suit since lapels and pockets are tricky to match with the major body of the suit.
- Plaid
Plaid patterns are definitely the fancier and the most elaborate of them all. Plaid suits are not commonly seen on the market just like the other suit patterns since plaid suits can be very expensive and is usually available as a tailored suit. The pattern design is quite the same as the windowpane pattern although the lines run in close knit sets with diverse spaces, creating box like openings. This pattern is ideal for less formal office settings and fun social functions like dinner parties and wedding events.
Pattern suits are great additions to a man\’s wardrobe especially if you always wanted to look presentable and fashionable at the same time.
